The Spring Exhibition 2020 opens to the public

THE SPRING EXHIBITION 2020: LAST TWO WEEKS OF VIEWING!

Viewing period: May 13th to May 24th (with the exception of May 17th and 21st)
Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm to 4pm

The Norwegian Association for Fine Arts Photographers (FFF) and Fotogalleriet are incredibly happy to welcome you back to the two last weeks of the Spring Exhibition 2020. The exhibition can be viewed Wednesday to Sunday 12-4pm. This will be the last chance for the audience to experience the Spring Exhibition 2020 and to view the most current artworks in the contemporary photography field today.

As a part of a long Salong-tradition, the exhibition presents works which have been chosen through an open call by review of fellow art professionals. A dystopian tone, the foreboding of a menace or crisis, and the awareness that the earth’s existence is at risk, are all striking elements of the exhibition. According to the jury, these elements have been general themes present in the applications for 2020.

The nine artists whom are presented this year are Hedevig Anker, Tanya Busse, Yamilé Calderon & Edward Cunniffe, Ove Kvavik, Tobias Liljedahl, Tor-Finn Malum Fitje (in collaboration with Thomas Anthony Hill, Giulia Mangione and Vegar Moen.

ABOUT THE SPRING EXHIBITION
The Spring Exhibition was established by artists for artists in 1976 by approval of FFF’s annual general meeting. As an opposition to The Autumn Exhibition, the official Salon for showcasing contemporary art in Norway, the Spring Exhibition was established to ensure the inclusion and exposure of lens-based art practices in the contemporary art field. It is an annual group exhibition based on open submissions selected by a jury of fellow part professionals. Since 2010, The Relief Fund for Visual Artists have annually announced and awarded the Art Photography Prize, Norway’s largest art photography prize, to the most significant artist displayed at the exhibition.




ABOUT SAFETY AND VIEWING GUIDELINES
FFF and Fotogalleriet are following the national guidelines and recommendations for infection control measures from the Norwegian government and the Norwegian Directorate of Health to prevent further contamination of Covid-19. We highly encourage our visitors to use disinfectants by the door, keep 1 meter distance between each other, and we will also make sure to limit the amount of people in the gallery.
