BIO
Istad is a professional artist working with photography, video and installation. Istad has been working as Art Director for 20 years.
She has published four books for Messel, Cappelen and Gyldendal Publiser. Istad has been art director/designer for travel magazines.
Istad has during the last 20 years participated in several solo and group exhibitions in both Norway and abroad. She has exhibited at a.o. Liquid Borders, Italy, KUBE Art Museum, Henie Onstad Art Center, Oslo Art Center, and Landmark Bergen Art Hall. Istad has made a series of public, site-specific projects such as; several landscape projects at Henie Onstad Art Center, DeFence Oslo, 100 meter art at Fornebu, Norway. She has together with artist Lisa Pacini made the light sculpture and road trip Traveling SUN and exhibited the project in Norway, England, Iceland, the Nederlands and USA. She has participated at the regional exhibitions and her works have been purchased by a.o. the Norwegian Bank, KUBE Art Museum, Prime Ministers Office and LUAG Collection, PA, USA. She has received her education from Westerdals School of Communication and Parsons School of Design in New York. Istad has received a series of project grants, artist stipends and support from the government of Norway.
