Pål Hermansen´s works are concentrated around the connection between nature and humans. Although all species are of the same origin, we consider ourselves as the world's main point and treat the environment accordingly. But if we observe the human world from nature's perspective, we often act as irrational and absurd creatures. At this intersection there is much to explore photographically.
Hermansen has art education from Rober Meyer College of Art, has published over 30 books, has had numerous exhibitions in Norway and abroad and has been included in museum collections. He has had several major commissions, for instance in the North Sea, and has received numerous awards, as in the World Press Photo competition. In recent years he has also worked with land art projects as part of the art group LandSkapt.
